In many parts of the country, people do not have access to integrative health care. Although meeting face-to-face is the best way to conduct a naturopathic visit, Dr. Hanson is happy to offer holistic phone consultation or online holistic consultations to those who do not live in the New York City area and may otherwise not have the opportunity for holistic health care.

A phone or online consultation with a doctor practicing integrative medicine follows more or less the same format as an office visit. Some therapies, such as acupuncture, are not feasible in this setting. However, most of the natural therapies Dr. Hanson uses can be adapted well to the online or phone consultation format. Many of the most effective natural therapies, such as homeopathy, traditional herbal medicine, and essence therapy, rely predominantly on the patient’s subjective experience of his or her symptoms as primary indicators in the selection of appropriate remedies. In a vast majority of cases, an extensive interview conducted over the phone will provide all the necessary information to determine the best course of action to resolve illness and return the patient to health.

During the holistic phone consultation or e-consultation, Dr. Hanson will learn as much as possible about the patient, his or her health concerns and health history, and overall constitution and habits. Using this information, Dr. Hanson will develop a holistic plan for natural treatment. If the recommended vitamins, nutritional supplements, herbs or homeopathic remedies are not available locally, superior-quality supplements can be shipped directly to the patient. Individualized homeopathic remedies or herbal formulas will be prepared and shipped by Dr. Hanson.
