The Bladder is considered a Yang organ in Traditional Chinese Medicine and is energetically paired with the Kidneys. The Bladder in TCM pretty much has the same function as the bladder in Western medicine: it stores urine. Bladder dysfunctions lead to symptoms such as urinary incontinence, urgency or frequency as well as pain and enuresis.

The energetic channel associated with the Bladder has by far the most named acupuncture points, many of which have profound actions on other Organs and body parts. The channel begins at the eye, travels over the top of the head and down the back and the back of the legs to end at the little toe.
